The Layout Module manages and is used to create and edit the drawings in a project. With the Layout Module as part of your custom application:

  • Users can design custom products and systems graphically.
  • Users can create and manage mutliple drawings in a project
  • You can generate DWG files from user's drawings (requires DWG Module).

The Drawing Interface

The Drawing Interface has 4 key areas.

  • Product Browser: to the left of the screen is the list of all products available to the drawing.
  • Drawing Area: users drag products into the central Drawing Area to lay out their custom product or system.
  • Products List: beneath the drawing area is a list of products in the current project that are not yet in the current drawing.
  • Properties Grid: to the right of the screen is an area that shows the properties of whatever is selected in the drawing area.

Product Browser

  • Lists the products in your custom application using an expandable tree view, with products grouped by Categories.
  • Shows a preview of each product symbol, along with that product's Description and any other Product Settings you have defined.
  • Can be ordered and filtered by any Product Setting.

Drawing Area

  • Allows users to design products and systems, seeing them as you want them to be seen.
  • Drag and drop Product Symbols to lay out your custom product or system.
  • Allows useful functions like Copy, Paste, Arrange, Align, Distribute, Rotate.
  • Includes view commands like Zoom In\Out, Zoom Extents, Toggle Clearances and more.

Products List

  • Shows products already in the project that can be added to the current drawing; just drag and drop.
  • Shows a preview of each product symbol and the product's Description and any other Product Settings.
  • Can be ordered and filtered by any Product Setting.

Properties Grid

  • Shows the properties of whatever Product is selected in the drawing area.
  • Edit or set values for any editable Setting of that Product.
  • Set position (X, Y co-ordinates) and rotation of any product symbol in the drawing.
