Projects

The Projects Module provides core functionality and is the scaffolding on which your custom application is built. The key elements of the Projects Module include:

• The Admin interface, where you set up your custom Application and the data it handles.
• The Projects interface, where your users create and access their Projects.
• The Snapshots interface, where users access the locked and timestamped copies of Projects which might be binding e.g. for Quotations or Orders.
• Reporting, which allows you to create powerful Report templates; Reports are the output of your custom application.

Layout

The Layout Module is an optional Module. With it, users can arrange products graphically - think of it as a drawing - to show the position of products e.g. as part of an assembly or system.

In the Layout view, Products are represented by Symbols, which can be any browser-supported format like .svg, .png or .jpg, and you can use any symbolic representations you want which make sense for the products and the task at hand.

DWG

The DWG Module is an optional Module. It is used to automatically generate DWG files which reflect the positioning of products as defined by users in the Layout view so it only makes sense to have the DWG Module if you also have the Layout Module in your custom application.

Generated DWGs can be used to communicate with third parties or even output directly, e.g. to a CNC Mill, for custom manufacture.

Generated DWGs are accessible only to the Admin of your custom application; they are not user-facing.
